County Connectivity Project

The Directorate of e-Government in conjunction with the consortium of Siemens and Soulco Projects Kenya is carrying out a county connectivity project with the following three main objectives.

• Provide last mile connectivity to government offices in the identified counties
• Provide, install and configure IP based HiPath 4000 network to the identified counties and two sites in Nairobi county.
• Set up a remote service monitoring centre for this integrated communication system at the main site in Nairobi

The project intends to use the existing NoFBI infrastructure and site surveys are being conducted in the counties with the objective of collecting data/information on NOFBI terminations locations, distance between NOFBI termination points and government offices, existing infrastructure in the counties and general information on counties e-readiness.  The Directorate of e-Government also identified government ministries/departments to be covered.
