e-Government Core-Functions
- Formulate and review e-government strategy and policy and monitor its implementation
- Advise the cabinet on e-Government issues
- Coordinate the development and implementation of e-Government programmes and plans in ministries and counties
- Develop and manage strategic systems including shared services and infrastructure, data, security, data centres and electronic services of the Government of Kenya.
- Develop and enforce strategic ICT security initiatives within Government including oversight of incident response
- Develop and enforce ICT standards to promote interoperability of systems and data and cost-effective use of ICT infrastructure and services
- Manage the implementation of ICT programmes in Government
- Monitor and evaluate the implementation and use of ICTs and recommend suitable enhancements;
- Undertake research and innovation on e-Government services
- Oversee implementation of capacity building initiatives on e-Government.
