PROGRAMMES, POLICY AND STANDARDS DIVISION
The Programmes, Policy and Standards division is headed by a director and will have Policy Formulation, Ministry/County Automation, and Project Management Office sections.
Policy Formulation Department
Functions:
- Formulate and enforce e-Government Policy and standards to promote interoperability of systems and data and cost-effective use of ICT infrastructure and services
- Coordinate the development and implementation mechanism of e-Government Strategies, programmes/projects and plans in ministries and counties
- Perform strategic planning at national level - manage the annual IT planning exercise across whole of government and develop strategies to move DeG and the GoK towards its corporate mission, vision and goals
- Identify and build mutual relationships with stakeholders, local and international partners and other governments to ensure collaboration towards achieving the goals of the e-Government Strategy.
Ministry/County Automation
Functions:
- Implement citizen centric e-service centres, (Integrated delivery services ), and other specialized initiatives in Ministries and counties
- Implementation and provision of strategic automation programmes in ministries and counties to leverage competitiveness and innovation
- Enforce the implementation of ICT security at the county and ministry level.
- Report on progress of projects being implemented in ministries and counties
Project Management Office
Functions:
- Monitor and evaluate Key Performance Indicators on e-Government initiatives within agencies in Government annually and propose adjustments
- Enforce the implementation of ICT security at the county and ministry level.
