Programmes, Policy and Standards

PROGRAMMES, POLICY AND STANDARDS DIVISION

The Programmes, Policy and Standards division is headed by a director and will have Policy Formulation, Ministry/County Automation, and Project Management Office sections.

Policy Formulation Department

Functions:

  • Formulate and enforce e-Government Policy and standards to promote interoperability of systems and data and cost-effective use of ICT infrastructure and services
  • Coordinate the development and implementation mechanism of e-Government Strategies, programmes/projects and plans in ministries and counties
  • Perform strategic planning at national level - manage the annual IT planning exercise across whole of government and develop strategies to move DeG and the GoK towards its corporate mission, vision and goals
  • Identify and build mutual relationships with stakeholders, local and international partners and other governments to ensure collaboration towards achieving the goals of the e-Government Strategy.

 

Ministry/County Automation

Functions:

  • Implement  citizen centric e-service centres, (Integrated delivery services ), and other specialized initiatives in Ministries and counties
  • Implementation and  provision of strategic automation programmes in ministries and counties to leverage competitiveness and innovation
  • Enforce the implementation of ICT security at the county and ministry level.
  • Report on progress of projects being implemented in ministries and counties


Project Management Office

Functions:

  • Monitor and evaluate Key Performance Indicators on e-Government initiatives within agencies in Government annually and propose adjustments
  • Enforce the implementation of ICT security at the county and ministry level.
  • Report on progress of projects being implemented in ministries and counties
